Building a three tier brew stand with unistrut. discussion in 'brew stands' started by discgolfin, jul 21, 2009. #1. i too have the same plans. i found 10' sections of strut at my local hardware store for $18/stick. i went with the 3/4" strut because the 1.5" seemed like overkill. the 1.5" strut was $22, so price wasn't the factor, just. Some of you may recall my three tier stand built from a mobile work bench. it was starting to fall apart so i decided to build this single tier. the strut was bought at lowes for about $20 per 10' stick.. Brewing stand overview. i've been home brewing for about 3 years or so, of which the last year and a half have been exclusively all grain. i'd heard about rims and herms systems, and after a bunch of online research, found keith's old station brewing company online. keith's system was right in the ballpark of what i wanted to build for myself.. The frame is 54 inches long by 16-1/2 inches deep and 21 inches high. it stands 25-3/4 inches high after bolting on the casters. the stand itself (frame & casters only - no burners, pumps, etc.) is pretty cheap... built for less than $225 ($230 if you count the $5 metal cutting abrasive disk for my miter saw)..
