How to build an inexpensive target stand for hanging idpa targets.. I wanted the stand to be adjustable or accommodate different target sizes from 18? to 24? wide, so i can use it for idpa, ipsc, silhouette targets, and others as necessary. i also wanted to build it for no more than a cost of $20.. These target stands are designed to fit the standard idpa/ipsc targets. target and 1x2's not included. the stands are all steel construction and are designed for heavy use. all steel construction heavy duty 16 gauge wide base for stability. uses standard 1x2" wood furring strips..
My brother and i decided to build some standup targets to use you will need 1 2x4" -8 foot 1 2x4" - 10 foot 2 2x2" - 8 foot 2 1/4" 20 tpi thread carriage bolts at least 4 inches long 2 20 tpi wing. The photos are for a second stand that i recently built so i can now put six ipsc targets down range if i'm really wanting to do a lot of shooting or if i want to run some multi-target drills or if my wife and i want to play some target games with our .22 pistols.. Nice simple video. made a couple modifications. used 1.5? to .75? reducer in the top ts, to use .75 pvc for the spreader. this allows easy adjustment for different size target frames..
